Outputting 15Khz via a gert VGA666 adaptor?

Sat Nov 17, 2018 5:17 pm

Hi everyone. I'm interested in connecting a pi (3B+) to an arcade CRT monitor. I've heard about the gert VGA666 adaptor and intend to get one.

However one thing I'm not clear on and can find no definitive answer for, is how a 15khz signal is output? AFAIK, a standard VGA connector will output 31khz, which I presume the VGA666 will do. An arcade monitor will require 15khz though. I presume this is achieved by some code? Or some other fashion?

I've searched and searched and yet can't find a solution. I've seen plenty of instances of people reportedly achieving this with the VGA666 but no explanation of how it is achieved?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'm on the same situation as you. I've purchased a vga666 in order to connnect a rpi to an arcade monitor, and there's few information, but the good news are that they say it's possible. Please look this link:

It's very well explained, and it doesn't look very complex to do. When i recive the vga666 will try to update.

Cheers
