Pinball

Sun Sep 24, 2017 6:49 pm

Has anyone found a good pinball emulator that will work on the Pi 3? I have an old laptop screen I want to re-purpose. I was thinking the aspect ratio would make a great little tabletop virtual pinball machine. I haven't found anything for the Pi.

I would love to hear the answer to this. I'm craving some pinball fun badly. Can anyone help?

I'm also looking for Pinball software for my parents' Pi3, my father would really love it but I couldn't find anything that would work correctly.

Try DosBOX or WinUAE to run Pinball Fantasies and Pinball Dreams... by example.

Thanks, that was my backup plan but I was hoping for something simpler and more advanced. I opted for Extreme Pinball and Epic Pinball as these were games that we played on my 486 machine when I was a child.
I installed DosBOX on the RPi3 and tried both of them. The performance was good, until I tried to use full screen on a FullHD monitor. Then I compiled DosBOX from source and configured it based on a topic here: viewtopic.php?f=78&t=95421
The performance did not seem to improve after that, so in the end only Epic Pinball was fast enough with normal3x scaler in windowed mode.
My father is happy that at least he can play a pinball game but I'm still trying to find even better solutions.

You should try rpix86 instead of Dosbox:
