Mooncake has lost the jetpack (Scratch)

Thu Feb 04, 2016 9:08 pm

When trying the Scratch lesson here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/we ... worksheet/ - the picture and link at step 7 give a 404 error (location https://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/we ... Cat.sprite

The lesson here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/learning/gr ... worksheet/ has a Mooncake, but only one costume - no jetpack. The jetpack is "required" by the first lesson. I could use any sprite, but the instructions say use Mooncake second costume with the jetpack

The weightlessness source at https://github.com/raspberrypilearning/ ... ster/files has a file but that has no jetpack either

Hello,
the problems you describe are related to the documentation efforts of the foundation. I looked around but could only find twitter account @MissPhilbin who could perhaps resolve these inconsistencies.

All the resources on raspberry pi are open source on github:

https://github.com/raspberrypilearning/weightlessness

If you raise an issue there Im sure the team will pick it up.

Or even better you could forked the repository, fix the issues and send a pull request :D

Hi thanks for the feedback. The best way to feedback to us so we'll pick it up quickly is via the resource itself and by clicking on the github icon at the bottom of the page and then issues and submit a comment.

We are looking into the 404 error because on github (the backend we use for resources) the file is there. Something is broken so it may take us a while to fix it.

You are correct there isn't a specific sprite with a jetpack. What I did was to use the sprite provided and to draw a jetpack onto it. You can always edit any sprite to add a jetpack. Why not give it a go creativity can be fun! :D

Thanks for looking at it, and the other advice. I am aware of the Github route, but at the time I took the quicker route (lazy, perhaps). I was checking a number of the resource pages, as there have been a few posts on the Forum that suggested that there are a few issues with some of them. I am not sure if they really are errors, like this 404 error, or if the newcomers just can't follow the instructions. Although I can take action like using a diferent sprite, and editing them, I am not sure that new users would be able to. I will be adding a few issues in the near future, and I will be experimenting with the Github fork and fix solution. I just need to focus my time effectively :)
