OMX.broadcom.video_decode with MJPEG

Fri Apr 19, 2013 11:30 am

Hello everyone,

After some initial success with decoding still JPEG images using image_decode component I have tried to use video_decode to decompress network MJPEG stream, but I have hit a wall here. The component correcty enumerates MJPEG format as being supported, but as soon as I try to open the input port it throws OMX_ErrorUnsupportedSetting error through the Event callback. Using other formats (like AVC) the component passes the initialization phase without problems. Since all video examples in hello_pi pacakge support only AVC they are no use for me. I have also tried to take a look at omxplayer, but it seems that it does not support MJPEG at all (although the code would suggest otherwise). I have tried several containers (mov, avi, etc) but it simply refuses to recognize a video stream. So my question is
Is MJPEG supported at all by video_decode, and could somebody provide a working example of such decoder?

Read here:

and see if you can play the sample files with omxplayer.
