hello_jpeg not working on Raspberry 2 B+

Wed Dec 16, 2015 3:32 pm

Hi all,

I'm working in a project that must decode several jpeg images per second. I started with opencv until I realized that it overloads the CPU and started to search for a more acurate solution using GPU instructions and that's why I'm starting with OpenMAX. I've compiled the sources with the rebuild.sh script succesfully but when I run the binary several error take place:

Code: Select all

Did not receive executing stat -1
No EOS event on image resizer -1
In addition the output buffer seems to contain random data.

Any tips? Thanks.

Often, the answer is to give more RAM to the GPU. What's your current split?

I set gpu mem to 256. Also free -m displays 735 mem / 99 swap. Could xrdp cause memory race conditions?

Since you mention xrdp , are you using the PI remotely (e.g. logging in over the network from a PC) ?

I think your problem is that the demo is using the GPU, and that will only display on the on board devices (comp/HDMI/LCD).

I am running into the same problem.
  • * Running Raspberry Pi 2 with Raspberry Pi 7" display
    * Boot into command line mode to the 7" display (rotated with lcd_rotate=2)
    * gpu_mem=256
I get the errors:
Did not receive executing stat -1
No EOS event on image decoder -1
No EOS event on image resizer -1

Not sure what I am doing wrong.
Thanks for any help!
