How to put Raspian Jessie on a sd? (new user)

Wed Sep 28, 2016 2:33 pm

Hello,

I have a RPi that is located in a remote data-centre.
I wanted to install PiVPN on it, and for that I needed to upgrade to the jessie release.
I tried the "dirty way" I found by googling, and that worked... until the reboot after the PiVPN installation. It doesn't come up again.
Now the data-centre will send me the SD-card, so that I can install the new OS on it and send it back.

So my question: Will the default installation be sufficient, or do I need to modify things?
For example: I need to access the RPi via ssh, do I need to do something for it?

Since the slow process of sending the SD-card back and forth, I should be do it right the first time.

Thank you in advance!
