I´ve installed Kodi 14.1 via archive.mene.za.net Repo.
How can I update to your 15.2 Version for Jessie?

I have a Raspberry Model B.

You cannot, RPI2 only,
But 15.1 is in the Foundation respository.

ok - you wrote:

So i thought it works on RPi B too.

I can update to 15.1 if I add "http://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian jessie main" to sources.list?

Hi everyone,

Just installed Jessie from scratch and installed Kodi 15.1 from the repo (apt-get install kodi).

I have the black screen problem when I quit. The Amber skin also does not load properly, I dont have the skin under the buttons and I found it slower than OP's version on Wheezy.

Does anyone think this version is still not ready to be used on top of Raspbian?

Any recommendations?

I'm not sure how to uninstall it either, should i just delete the Kodi folder, is that enough? Maybe I should try OP's version instead which worked great on my former Wheezy install.
Edit: I've uninstalled it using the apt remove cmd, but it seems my setting and skins are still installed and OP's version finds them. How can I start from scratch again?

Thanks for the help!! :)

Yes.

I really appreciate your help mate, updated kodi all works well, except for no-audio at the start, but I've solved removing guisettings.xml and restore all the settings. Now also youtube plugin back to works. Thanks again!

I tried the installation described above but it failed with this error:

Any idea?
I'm completely new to kodi install, so forgive me please!

Run
sudo apt-get update
and try again.
libudev0 is definitely in the repository, but the version may have changed.

Is it possible, that the repos-version has the exit-bug (blackscreen) again?

However, actually I managed to get gkreidl's version running again (after I found out that the gui-tool to change the gpu-mem did not change the ram, caused by 2(/4) entries (?!) in the configfile ...) - but I got a question: If I do apt-get dist-upgrade, it shows me some Kodi-files....can I install them (gkreidl's version!!) - or will it cause problems?

My version has problems with dist-upgrade. For some reason that I do not understand, the repository version takes precedence, although my version is newer. this does only happen with kodi (I have a few more of newer packages on my system)
Fortunately dist-upgrade is not required normally. If it is really needed, uninstall my version first and install it again afterwards.

Trying to show DVD menus over SAMBA either using ISO or from extracted folder doesn't work for me. Here's the log:

13:27:42 T:1792046112 NOTICE: Thread DVDPlayer start, auto delete: false

However, if I select directly a VTS file it will play without problems.

Hello Mr. Kreidl,

Wunderbar, vielen, vielen dank!! for this tutorial.
I gave it a second try on Jessy this morning (after trying it a few weeks ago for the first time) based on your new available download and instructions for Jessy. Followed it step by step, now it works fine, except for an issue or two. Much appreciated!

I have an issue though with airplay (freezing Kodi), but that's not important and - more important - I cannot play DVD movies (with VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder structure), while mkv and mp4 are doing fine. Looks like an issue in Kodi; anyone any idea how this can be solved? Thanks!

Kind regards,
Dick

DVDs need libdvdcss which is missing in Raspbian (for legal reasons, I suppose). You have to compile it from source.

For all of you having the problem that after installing Kodi your screen only shows black, http://elinux.org/RPi_Resize_Flash_Part ... spberry_Pi did the trick for me. Simply my root filesystem was full (fresh install 2015-11-21-raspbian-jessie). I could log into the pi immediately after booting (do not wait to long) followed the instruction and all went fine. Hint: There seems to be no swap partition (partition 3) as described in the article in the new(er) releases of Raspbian, so no need to delete it and be aware that the start of the new partition matches exactly the start of the old partition!

Hi everyone.
Is anyone having problems finding libcec3 in the repositories? When I use apt-get it says it was unable to locate the package.
I'm on raspbian 8, up to date, with original repos in sources.list.
Thanks.
