Baleeverne wrote:Hey thanks a lot for this! I do have a bit of an issue actually. I have no subtitles when playing some MKV files.

Reading around the net i thought it was due to libass not being present but libass4 is present (i'm on wheezy).

I don't get why it doesnt work for these files. Here is a description of the video (the exemple is the last One Piece episode to date in MKV):

Codec : H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
Resolution : 1920x1090
FPS : 23.976215
Format décodé: Planar 4:2:0 YUV

Codec : MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
Fréquence d'échantillonnage: 44100 Hz

Codec : SubStation Alpha subtitles (ssa )
(It's in french i'm sorry ;))

THanks a lot guys!
You need a newer version of libass than the one present in Raspbian Wheezy repos:
Here it is:

I've just published kodi-15.2RC3 (release 151903, git Rev.: 20151006-9efd358) for Jessie and updated the OP accordingly.

check the content; it should be the same as with the new version if you haven't changed it (should have been removed during installation if a kodi version was present).

In the tar.gz files there are .deb files. Thank you very much !

You can help the server by making torrents for the .tar.gz with public or your server trackers and let us download the .torrent files instead.

A magnet link would mean no server is needed but the torrent would be lost at zero seeders. Unless you have a webseed open on the server like they do on jupiterbroadcasting.com

You can take a look and use the script that I made - it's not perfect but with some tinkering it did the job.

To make the deb I used the checkinstall program and dpkg-deb, so before running it do:

sudo apt-get install -y devscripts debhelper checkinstall

Here is the script:

Good luck !
1) You should not use this thread for this; create a new topic instead.
2) This is really missing most of the hard work: finding all the dependencies for compiling (-dev packages) and for installation (to put into the simple debian description created by checkinstall).

1) This topic is found on google when searching "jessie kodi" and the script is not so good to deserve a topic of it's own I think...

2) Work in progress... anyone can make pull requests or build their own. Free and open source software.

P. S. I just want to help the community to have a media center now on Jessie (and hope someone makes a ppa soon 8-) ).[/quote]
There's a thread about compiling kodi 15 for RPi 2 already; this might be a better place for your offering.
This thread is for people who want to download an already compiled version. I've changed the title if the OP (again), to make it more clear.

A possible problem identified: after installation of Kodi Jessie 15.2 and running ok (and after installing minimal kweb), when I install other programs I get.

The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
libao-common libao4 libmicrohttpd10 libmysqlclient18 libpcrecpp0
libshairplay0 libtinyxml2.6.2 libva-x11-1 mysql-common python-imaging
ttf-dejavu-core ttf-liberation
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.

Checked after restart, it's installed and still appears.
Normally when a package is installed, it's dependencies don't risk being autoremoved.
Possible solution - a meta package that lists all dependencies plus the program.

This should not happen! I didn't check all, but at least libmicrohttpd10 and libmysqlclient18 are in the dependencies list of kodi. Perhaps there is a bug in gdebi. You could try to install kodi-15 once more using dpkg.

No. I've updated all my systems to Jessie and trying to build a Wheezy version would lead to a lot of trouble. If you want to stay on Wheezy you have to live with an older version (the same is true true for thousands of other packages).

Hello,

Thank for releasing a compiled package of Kodi 15 for Raspbian !

I'm new to Raspberry and Raspbian, I've bought a RPI2 last week and I have a fresh install of Raspbian Jessie. I've first installed Kodi 14, and I got the so famous black screen issue on exit. So I followed your instructions and installed Kodi 15.2RC3. It have been installed well and it works fine but ... It still hang on a black screen when exiting Kodi, nothing changed regarding this issue for me :(

Have you any idea ? Have I missed a step ?
