Raspbian lite edition??

Tue Nov 05, 2013 9:22 pm

I've noticed Raspbian has been growing in size every time there's been a new updated version.
There are obviously some people who prefer the full package, however I bet there are a big number of Pi owners who really don't care for X or for any of the bundled educational software.

So I was wondering is there any chance the RPF could provide a cut down version of Raspbian and one that fits nicely onto a 2GB SD card with some space to spare??

I understand you can "roll your own" Raspian here.
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary, and those that don't.

There are quite a few alternative Raspbian Distros out there that will fit on a 2GB SD card, some will even fit onto a 1GB SD card with room to spare.
There's also a few installers available to do similar things. hifi's unattended installer being my preferred installer.
