I don't suppose anyone will ever publish one, but I would be very interested in seeing a graph of the 'expressions of interest' and orders placed for the first few weeks after the launch, and how quickly (if at all) the demand reduced.

I ordered mine on 7th March but have not had anything more definite than 'by the end of June' yet. I will continue to live in hope that it will be early, rather than late June though!

Hopefully by then I will have a case for it also.

Hi,  just to add another perspective.

i ordered on Friday from the RS invitation to order email.

order number is 177X

however, i have not yet received a dispatch email from parcelforce - but that may be because I have delivery to a non-uk address.  I am still hoping for a delivery before Friday, but maybe i am being overly optimistic!

The package was labeled tarte aux framboises. It was opened by French Customs and eaten!

I got my invite to order and subsequent despatch email too, hopefully it arrives today.

However, just checked my card statement and it has been billed twice. I hit an error page during ordering and went back and did it again, obviously this has caused this.

Since the despatch email says 'contents 1 item' I'm not getting two R-Pis, so I need to organize a refund. Funny thing is that this order number (17xx) is nowhere to be found in my 'normal' RS account.

The numbering appears to be specifically for the Pis. You will also find that you can't access the order from your RS account. It seems to be a parallel system where every detail has to be set up from scratch.

I expect you'll all be itching to know that my Pi has been dispatched too. I was order number 18xx.

I don't remember what time I registered back in February - I ignored that page when I first found it, and I thought it was a few minutes later when I changed my mind a filled it in. And then when I hit submit I got an error message back, so I tried again about half an hour later. But I guess my first try was successful.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to doing something with the Pi. I'm not sure what. I'd like to create something educational, since that's its original purpose. Although eventually, when I'm allowed to buy more than one, a media streamer, media receiver, guitar effects box and a car computer may get created.

According to what I read somewhere else, and I can't remember WHERE now.... this 4k batch is being allocated to people who registered in the first 5 minutes and who weren't blessed with the amazing reactions that enabled the first 700 to register in the first minute!

Oh Well. As I didn't get a successful screen until about 6:07 I guess I'm in the next batch, which we should hopefully hear about next week if the last e-mail from RS is anything to go by.

On a funny side. My heart skips a beat everytime somebody updates this post as I get an alert and all I see at a glance is "Your item is being despatched" and I have to do a double take.

Well mine is now here and I am in the process of testing debian and setting up SSH and disabling overscan. Is very cool. People in office are surprised how small it is.

Got the email too (order #167X)

Mine's "out for delivery". Pity there will be no one in to sign for it . At least with Farnell's second class post it would  just go through the letter box (if it ever got to your door that is )

Woop woop! Pie arrived!

FYI registered with RS approx 6:02 after being confused that you couldn't buy one there and then. Couldn't get on the Farnell site. I am in the UK.
