Resource for Handling Multiple Development Boards

Mon Jun 03, 2013 1:30 pm

In talking with multiple engineers and other users of Raspberry Pi, Freescale Freedom, and other development board users, we heard about several problems.
1.They were often not using one board, but several of them.
2. As they used these boards, they found themselves with a jumble of boards, cables, & components scattered across their workstation or desk.
3. When they had to move the boards, it required disconnection of wires or balancing them in some way to avoid damaging the connections.

We passed these issues over to our design team, and they came up with a solution to all of these challenges that is different than others in the industry. Check out the video on the Board-Ganizer below. Basically, it is 4 plastic panels on which you can mount any board or breadboard, using double stick pads (included.) This means it will work with virtually any size development board including of course, the Raspberry Pi and its accessories such as the camera, Freedom Boards, Arduino, Olimex, and most sizes of the Beagle Board. The plastic panels connect to each other using metal dowels, and then can be rolled up into an enclosure that’s 5 x 5 x 3 without disconnecting anything. You can then set it aside to avoid damage from a cleaning crew at the end of the night, take it down the hall with you to visit a colleague, or take it home. We priced these below $20. The Board-Ganizer will be in stock in the next two weeks at our authorized distribution channel including distributors like Newark and Allied who sell the Raspberry Pi Enclosure.

Not a fan of the name but what's in a name. The design is brilliant though. Maybe "Buddies" I don't care who you are "Buddiez" are a developers best friend. :)

I understand the question on the name, but wanted to chose something not in used by other companies. Our thought was to say what it was "a Board Organizer" (Board-Ganizer) as opposed to choosing a name like "Panther." Really glad to hear you like the design though.
