cable not connected

Sun Jun 02, 2013 11:18 pm

Hi,

I have done following :
- downloaded wheezy binaries
- copied it over to 4 GB SD Card class 10
- connected usb mouse and keyboard
- for the monitor I have tried adapter for HDMI port.

however when I boot I can see only red light occasionally turns green and my monitor keeps giving message " cable not connected", I tried to separately connect to monitor via my laptop still same message. do I assume the monitor is stuffed and try a new monitor OR should I re download wheezy and try it again.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Regards,
CK.

your PI doesn't boot, and until it does won't show any video, see the starters sections here.

P.s what does "copied over the image" mean?
Did you use the correct tools in the correct way to write the card, just copy-paste will never work!

In addition to what mahjongg said, what adaptor are you using. Is it a HDMI to VGA adaptor with a separate power supply, or an HDMI to DVI cable or something else?
