Boot to pygame

Sun Jun 02, 2013 8:53 pm

Hi everyone,

I built a simple application using pygame. Now I'd like to configure my raspberry pi so that it boots to that pygame application whenever it is powered on, preferably not wasting to much time. How do I do that?

Any help is highly appreciated.

There's quite a few ways to do it. I imagine you'll looking for something a little easier than writing a command line script.

Take a look at this post, you'll just have to make it point to your program instead of midori. ... 27&t=11256

i think that if your pi does NOT boot straight to desktop, you can do this:

chmod the program to 0755:
chmod 0755 *filename*

place the program in the usr/bin directory:
cd *file-location*
sudo cp *filename* /usr/bin

and edit the profile file in etc:

sudo nano /etc/profile

at the end of the file, add the name of your script that is in /usr/bin

I'm happy to help. - List of games that work on the Pi.
