I have a Raspberry Pi B.
I am using a HDMI Samsung Screen which is working.
There is a keyboard and mouse and a powered USB hub.
The power supply is 5v and 1amp.
The red light comes on but not the green one and I believe the SD card is not being read.
The card is a Samsung 8GB SD pre-loaded with Debian Linux OS.

Can you advise?

WTaylor.

Firstly, forget the pre-loaded image. Many of them are out of date and will not work with a lot of recent Pis.

Download the latest version of Raspbian Wheezy and install that onto the card as per the instructions on the Downloads link from the main Raspberry Pi page.

If that doesn't boot either, check the troubleshooting hints on http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting.

Make sure you are using a known good power supply. Some claim to be rated at "5V 1A", but can't manage to provide that. Also some cheaper USB power cables are known to too thin to cope with the load.

Check your SD card slot for tiny cracks or looseness of the card.
