Upgrade from 32GB to 64GB failed

Thu Mar 28, 2013 3:40 pm

Hello,
I need some help, I had a working and configured 32GB card and bought a 64GB as an upgrade.
Had BerryBoot installed on a FAT partition and the rest of the space in a Linux partition (ext3),
Built an image from the entire card with Win32 Disk Imager, restored the image to the new card and the Raspi didn't boot.
Have I forgot something?
To test the card, installed BerryBoot manually, downloaded and installed Wheezy.
What can I do to restore the image of the 32GB card or copy files within the image to the new installation?

Thanks,
chapas

Can you try lobing the latest raspbian onto the 64gb card and seeing if it boots?

AFAIK is 32GB the largest card that is possible within the SDHC spec, larger cards are SDXC. The SD slot in the Pi only sees SDHC.

Didn't know where you read that, this is a SANDISK SDSDU-064G-FFP and it already booted, no problem on that matter.

It's in de eLinux wiki, but I see now that several users reported working SDXC cards there.

Does anything show up on boot?, rainbow screen? kernel messages?

The card does not boot (nothing on screen either) when i wrote the image on the 64GB SD card, only boots with a clean install.

I'd just do a clean install, then mount the old card using a cheap usb reader and then copy everything from the old card to the new one.

That's an idea but I don't have the old card any more, only a full image from it, how can I mount that?

Just to share some advance, in case someone needs it I was able to mount a win32 disk imager with a software called OSFMount ( http://www.osforensics.com/tools.html )
