The announcment will probably be something like:

"We have decided to use all of the Rasperry Pi's from the first batch to host our website so it will be able to keep up with the traffic, so you unfortunately have to wait another month until the second batch arrives"

Well, it probably won't be important, you should all really stay in bed and check the website later when you wake up and then i will have the whole website for my self at 6AM

I hadn"t, in fact, and doing so now has uncovered some other non-junk I"d missed. However, nothing from you, unless you"re calling yourself "Fun Girl".

There is another 11.5 hours before 'the announcement' for the emails to arrive ahead of the deadline:  the sorting probably has no basis in timezone.

I still think Breakfast at 6.00 is a good chance (I don't bet {you can see why}..except on the national lottery because that is a dead cert -you lose ... but I wouldn't mind being proved wrong )

On the sofa at 8.45 announcing a great British success: 'Sold Out already!'

-better than having the Mdock press claiming its a failure because it wasn't sold via News Corpse.

(If its headlines tomorrow, Liz; you'd better check your phone! )

I got the E-mail yesterday. It was in my junk mail folder. Make sure you check there. Add it to your safe senders list so further mail will not be marked as spam or junk. Some mail providers may have blocked these do to the mass mailings. As of last night my brother had not received one either.

I will be on to see the announcement tonight.

Possibly good news, but its a shame all these deal sites are listing it. If it does end up on sale, its annoying people who have no idea what to do with it, or people who think it'll replace their (insert random electrical device such as wii, pvr, washing machine, kettle) might end up taking units away from dev's, edu's, etc...

Ah well, I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hopefully only dedicated peeps will be up early.

I almost hope its just a press release... {evil smiley}........................ not really.

But not many will be checking their email early in the morning, and, if they registered using a work email and have gone home by now, that's it; they'll only discover they've missed it all when they get into work tomorrow.

I've not had my email either and I'm pretty good at getting email.

In some respects part of the problem will be the infrequency of the sending, particularly if they are coming from the web server via the WP plugin. Mail servers need to be trained and some are very good at spotting an unknown ip address suddenly sending 100,000 emails! This is why Email ISP's exist - to ensure deliverability.

Not to worry, those that have been active here in recent weeks will know, those that signed up and didn't hang about to get up to speed will have a lesson learnt.

Once the initial rush is over, perhaps the foundation can draw up a wish list and some of us could help with various aspects of the infrastructure.

"Wait for the influx of buyers on the forum complaining that it came without the power supply/something else"

Now that sparked an idea - shame it is too late!

Make the order form part of a set of multiple choice questions...

Correct answers being

Linux

No power supply

No keyboard

No mouse

Populated circuit board

It won't run out of the box

I am sure you can think of more.

Don't get them right in a short time - no order

Checking my email, I have two confirmed subscriptions, one with +raspberrypi and one without. Still no announcement to either.

Is anyone else on googlemail.com?

I have googlemail and received the email confirming my email address but have not received the latest email... 9.5 hours to go.

Checked in all folders as well.

If you got the email, what does it say?

I wonder if sending 100,000 emails has triggered a lot of spam filters.

Apparently it says the same as is on the front page.

Chris

I'm surprised that nobody has written a spam system that can do addition.

But that will help keep the production runs high, and hence the costs down.  Win for the federation !

They're gonna announce that they move their website from Wordpress to Drupal to be more manageable, gain performance, scalability, features and user-experience.

Or was it just me while hacking together a Drupal based RPi community platform for us Germans?

Tomorrow morning we'll see..

P.S.:

Any German fans, enthusiasts, writers, engineers out there who are interested in helping out with the platform? Most stuff is done already. Only need some more testing and content and then we're ready to go. Bells & whistles have to wait a bit..
