Sorry, I had to because it rhymes.

No kidding. The lack of info on the release date is killing me.

Another week to go…

… before they'll be on show.

So just be patient, bide your time…

… until they're rolling off the line.

[EDIT: For the avoidance of doubt,  the "week to go" above is merely poetic licence - I have no actual idea exactly how long we have to wait ]

I'm almost glad they haven't released yet.  At this point the possibility still exists that I might be able to get one.  Always late to the party...

Ha! but the Gertboard Rev-2 is back from the PCB manufacturer. I'll start assembly this weekend.

Only a shame I can't test it because somebody damaged my Beta board. Only 20 in the world and they had to rip off the SD-card connector including the pads and severely bend the GPIO pins :-<

Gert, now I'm curious, was it a child, some kind of animal or what?

It would be cool if they released it on March 14th. (3/14) It's Pi day, and all.

No, I believe it was someone from sales and marketing. But the effect (and IQ) is much the same.

(Only joking)

I suppose if it can be fixed they won't steal it again (make the fix look ugly!).  1st board up for raspberry A&E.

Was the SD connector fail most likely due to the special beta ones? Or did they step on it or something? When is the public flogging...

I was not present but apparent it was passed among some MIT audience and yes the SD-connector was very vulnerable as it was one of the temporary-patch ones which sticks out and had no mechanical connections at all.

SD socket I can understand, and the production models will doubtless have a far more robust version.

But how on earth did they bend the GPIO pins without trying?
