I have two use scenarios.  One is tucked behind the TV, connected to a spare HDMI port.  The other is as a portable device for use elsewhere in the house.   This latter one is probably just as a prototype because once you add sufficient batteries it will probably be too bulky to actually wear on your belt - in which case, why not just use a smart-phone?

I am not worried about keyboards or portable displays, as I am aiming for pure voice control and output most of the time.  Kind of like Siri, but more useful around the house.  While Siri can tell you where the closest French restaurant is, it can't tell you where you left your pinking shears.

I have experience doing voice input and output for people with reading/typing disabilities.

James - as the edges aren"t rounded off, you may have found an alternative to the banhammer (and a use for the inevitable boards that fail testing)

Mine's getting glued into a scooped-out PSone case and put on top of my main PC. It's going to be displayed in a window on said main PC using the RCA video-in on my old analogue TV tuner card, and it's going to be used purely for learning programming - I'll get a simple ''notepad' with colour-coding' 'dev environment' set up, along with the necessary libraries installed, and that's it. any 'googling for docs/tutorials' is going to be done on the now oft-mentioned PC, and stuff like .wav files and picture files are going to be transferred over using a USB stick - the raspi's going to be lean, clean, and coding-only.

Hi tufty!
note: I may or may not know what I'm talking about...

I will mount mine to the back on a monitor with velcro.

I will use it to optimize C code for ARM platforms.

As long as you don't post pictures of your setup, we're fine

A) Until i am able to buy more - on my desk. After that, in the case of a burned-out Miglia TVMax TV-tuner - will stack perfectly with my mac mini.

B) World Domination !

A: I'm still thinking on that, worst case I'll fake a case with cardboard, and 2-sided tape it up on the main rolling computer stand I use. Looking for a 3D printer in the Seattle area that I can borrow somewhat

B:Mainly a C/C++ Linux development station, the RPi will make a NICE embedded development platform, as well as wearable computer I'd think, I've thought of a number of uses, and I'm trying to think of anything to help people out. Once the huge production runs start popping out anyways.

Just remembered I have an old dead SNES in a cupboard somewhere, a Pi would be perfect tucked away sat on top of a modern console like an Xbox.

If not, it'll be a cardboard box or something similar with ethernet and power going in, probably next to my network switch. The problem I'm finding now is, once I have one Pi, I'll want many more. This could end expensively..

1. Test it as a media centre for family/friends

2. Connect it to speakers and use it as a music streaming device throughout the house

I am planning on rebuilding my Interactive R2-D2 to run off this board.  But first it will sit on my desk till I can get VNC setup and order some more parts for it.

The first one will most likely end up inside my PC's 5,25" bay, with a USB hub and an Ethernet switch, as an 'embedded LAMP server' for development and some Linux remote management education. I plan to access it via telnet or SSH, possibly remote desktop. No need for an extra keyboard and screen.
