PINN Installs Exton's Raspex (Ubunutu 18.04+LXDE) for Pi4

Wed Jun 26, 2019 8:08 am

Following the launch of the Pi4, we will have few operating systems for it until the OS maintainers can release new versions.
So for the sake of variety, I have updated Exton's Raspex OS to create a version for the PI4.

Raspex4 (as I have distnguished it) is based on Ubuntu 18.04 + the LXDE desktop. You can install it via PINN where you will find it listed in the Testing category.
It should also work on the Pi 2B and Pi3 variants as well as the Pi4.

The basics seem to work, but I haven't tested it extensively, so any feedback on what does or doesn't work would be useful, so I can see if this technique is suitable to upgrade other OSes in the short term. I have noticed that it seems to take longer for the desktop to fully initiate. Login with raspex/raspex.

No additional applications have been installed, so you may need to add some more packages to make full use of the PI4 features (?)

The kernel is 32-bit.
It is essentially the same as the original Raspex with new firmware and kernel.
