Disable right click raspberry pi 7" touch screen (enable button hold)

So I have an application where I need to detect a long key press in a web interface and then do something if the user held the key down. My application works fine with the mouse but when I'm using the touch screen the long hold is never detected.

I've determined that this is likely because when I hold a key press on the screen, its attempting to do a right click action (which I've disabled with a kiosk mode configuration in the browser) however because its simulating a right click my 'long hold' never occurs, ie it keys up and then back down with a right click after I hold for a brief moment.

Is there a way to disable the right click functionality? I've seen some stuff about modifying the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf (which I think changed to /etc/X11/xorg.conf in later versions?) in order to do ENABLE right click functionality. So I starting looking for an xorg.conf file for me to edit to DISABLE right click functionality but I'm not seeing this file anywhere.

If its not this right click functionality screwing me up I'm not sure what is, is there anything you can think of that would be messing with my reading a 'long hold' keypress (and subsequently reading that) on the touchsreen?

Hey, have you found a solution or workaround for this?
