RTMP Stream using 4G

Mon May 27, 2019 1:48 am

Okay, help me out if this is actually possible

Currently, I'm using a Raspberry Pi Model 3B+ wth a PiCamera and a Sixfab 4G Shield attached on it to do livestreaming. I used NGINX as well as an RTMP Module to help me with that

The whole process of livestreaming works if I were to use wi-fi

Code: Select all

 raspivid -o - -w 1280 -h 720 -t 0 -fps 30 -b 8000000 -p 0,0,640,480 | avconv -re -ar 44100 -ac 2 -acodec pcm_s16le -f s16le -ac 2 -i /dev/zero -f h264 -i - -vcodec copy -acodec aac -ab 128k -g 50 -strict experimental -f flv rtmp://192.168.137.107/live

and i then view it on my windows pc using VLC by keying in rtmp://192.168.137.107/live

now, is it possible to use 4G on the raspberry pi and transmit the video image to an ip address? do i need to use vpn or port forwarding or maybe even both? any help would be appreciated!

i think you wont need vpn, but ports need to be open for able to accessible outside.
what do you think?
