UPS USB Causing Not a MTP Device

Sat Oct 20, 2018 11:53 pm

Hi All,

I installed a Tripp Lite UPS and when I connect a USB cable from it to the Raspberry Pi, syslog is flooded with the messages shown below saying the device is not an MTP device. Does anyone know how to disable MTP checking for USB devices?
Communication to the device works with the NUT utilities.

OS is Debian Jessie.
USB is a Tripp Lite OMNI650LCD

mtp-probe: checking bus 1, device 54: "/sys/devices/platform/soc/3f980000.usb/usb1/1-1/1-1.5"
mtp-probe: bus: 1, device: 54 was not an MTP device

kernel: [ 9234.609721] usb 1-1.5: Product: Tripp Lite UPS

Thanks.
