Data acquisition and query in the cloud

Sun Mar 26, 2017 9:55 pm

Dear all,

I want to use a raspberry to acquire data(temperature, humidity, wind speed and some photos) connected to the internet using a 3G modem.
I thought about uploading the data to the cloud like Google Drive and create a web to view them,

My surprise is that google drive does not allow sharing web pages :(

I´am looking for alternatives and I found the following:
[*] Firebase
[*] Web hosting with MySQLdatebase
[*] Web hosting with data sheet connection of Google Drive
[*] Discarded: WebServer in Raspberry Pi (Reasons: I think it will not work fast and the mobile line has a maximum of 1 Gb per month)

Do you suggest me?
Do you know any similar project?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

You might be able to get your application sending the data to a google doc spreadsheet, I've seen other systems that can integrate with google docs. It then might be possible to share that spreadsheet with whatever graphs you want.

Otherwise you could look at getting a cheap VPS and put together a webapp and database that your Pi can push data to. A cheap VPS would give you something a bit like a headless Pi in terms of environment to work on.

NB: I'm not sure this is necessarily an advanced topic, you may get more responses if you asked an mod to move this to General Discussion or Beginners.
