Use Farnell, not RS.

Fri Aug 31, 2012 5:20 pm

RS have rediculous lead times. I ordered mine beginning of June, still no sign of it. I placed an order for one from Farnell last week and it is arriving tomorrow.

I've had two from Farnell now and they've both arrived within a week or so. Still no sign of any from RS - so I've now cancelled with them.

It does look like Farnell have got their act together.

Maybe RS are concentrating on larger orders like supplying Maplins future release or shipping to Allied (Amerrican Part of the RS Group of companies) to grab the US share of the market.

This is company sensitive info so we can only speculate. ;)

Doesn't look like RS is giving Allied any priority in supply.
The latest from Allied's order page www.alliedelec.com/lp/120626raso/
"Please note that due to extreme demand the estimated delivery time is uncertain and may exceed 12 weeks."

My second Pi from Allied was ordered June 29 and arrived August 27 so it looks like I got lucky on that one at 8 weeks
