I think so. I've got the 2.8" Resistive display and it'll function as a normal display... with some limitations.

I sped up the SPI bus and increased the SPI buffer size, I can't remember all the tweaks but it allowed higher frame rates.

If you have the kit, give it a try. You can set the screen resolution in Kodi so tweak that down to 320x200 (or whatever your display uses).

Correct me if I am wrong; you want to display the movie info on the Adafruit LCD, while the movie is playing on the TV from HDMI?

OP: please don't bump your own posts. ESPECIALLY please don't bump posts when they've only been on the forum for less than three hours.

In theory it's possible, but a quick search around it doesn't appear that Kodi supports a feature like you are requesting. All the dual screen request I could find were from Kodi running on Windows where they wanted movie selection on one screen and the video showing on the second.

There is a possibility of running a web browser connected to the Kodi web interface on the small screen and using that to view movie information, although at that point you might as well use the android or iOS remote app to control it.
