Let me just say you reached 20,000 in a shorter amount of time than expected. Congrats on the new milestone and thanks for all of the help you have provided to all of us Raspberry Pi users. :)

I've not yet forgiven him for overtaking me.

You could use the ban hammer on anyone who posts more than you.

Congrats to Dougie.

a beer for dougie!
20000 posts and a big part of them are masterpieces.
I take out posts where he talks about php and python because he looses objectivity in there :)

No...The PHP and Python comments are gems. Highlights of the show. Spot on.

i prefer the MQTT posts.

Something like:

OP asks a random question regarding any possible argument.
Dougie answers with "easy. you can do that with mosquitto."
then he talks about DB2 and IBMsomething :)

NB: i'll never thank Dougie enough for the MQTT world :) (and for much more..)

Should I give up on the forum for a few months to let you catch up, you're less than 5K behind.

I'd like to note that Joan has quietly passed 10,000 posts (and as ever those are more useful than my noise).

Payments in the form of small blue beer tokens with HMQ's portrait and the number five on the front are welcomed.
Note: Having anything humorous in your signature is completely banned on this forum. Wear a tin-foil hat and you'll get a ban.

I would think that payment in the form--the relatively rarer--Pi Zeros would be more appropriate.

(And I'm not even in the running in this "contest" as regards quantity, and probably not quality, either.)

Thanks Clive. The raspberry pis have kept me mildy amused since October 2012, it's taken us all back to the early days in the late 1970s / early 1980s when this stuff was all new and mysterious.

My twin brother told me he's just passed 80,000 posts on the AVR Freaks forums, so I've got a way to go to catch him.

How true!
My twin brother told me
Is this the brother who helped bringing the great Amstrad CPC to us (ZX Spectrum) fans? :-)

Since I only have one brother and one sister, you're dead right. Cliff worked for Amstrad with Alan Sugar for 25 years and was responsible for pushing the CPC and Speccy stuff into the public domain. I've still got some of his Amstrad stuff sitting on my 2TB NAS.

Go catch up by randomly saying "great job" or "good work" 5000 times.

Dougie, then I'd like to say thank-you to your family: to you for your many helpful articles here and elsewhere around the Pi, which my family is enjoying since two years, and to your brother for his work on the Amstrad and Speccy which both I enjoyed for many years. Keep up the good work!

Don't worry it's quality rather than quantity which counts ;)
