Smaller/right-angled power supply connector?

Sun Mar 06, 2016 5:02 pm

I'm interested in having a Pi in a table-top mount in a picture-frame sort of style (i.e. landscape), with a Display-O-Tron HAT attached. Thus, the power supply connector (and HDMI port) will be on the 'bottom' of the Pi, facing downwards. The power supply connector is quite lengthy, which would thus necessitate raising the Pi quite a distance from the table-top. Does anyone know of an alternate power supply cable/connector that perhaps attaches at right angles, thus not protruding so far from that side of the case?

You have to be careful, there are left and right angled ones.
I think there are also shorter / longer ones than this particular one.

Thank you. Which power plug do you use with it, may I ask? I know that any 2A - 2.5A supply should presumably work.

I can confirm you I am using exactly that one angled cable from Amazon, with perfect results.

For the power supply I use an standard 2A USB power suppy buyed at a mobile accesories shop. They usually name the 2A capacity models as "for tablets". But if you are about to order the cable to amazon I would recommend adding the original raspberry power supply to the basket - they sell it at an affordable price.
