Raspberry Pi controlling my RepRap (Tutorial)

Wed Aug 01, 2012 2:54 pm

I put together a quick "tutorial" on how to get PrintRun (Pronterface) running on the RPi so you can use it to control your RepRap printer.

I'm by no means an expert, these are simply the steps I used to get my printer up and working.

Many thanks for you post, V interesting & heartening

I have been discussing with a developer and tinkering away in the background with a view to getting a hacked (butchered) front end of EMC2 doing the sameish thing with an Arduino - Atmel chip - Gertboard

Not much output as yet, as still looking at feasability.

Please post and update further developments as they occur. I'm V interested in in the 3D printing thing, and am in the process of building a reprap ish contrivance.

I put together a quick tutorial on installing Slic3r on the RPi so you can convert STL's to G-Code.

Let me know if there any questions.
