I have just read on the website that you are intending to move away from Royal Mail to a carrier.
I live in Orkney and the carriage costs for a courier service will cost more than the board itself and take anything up to 10 days for delivery. Is there anyway to keep the Royal Mail for remote areas of the UK.

I think the big issue is that the carrier will also handle the warehousing so that the Pi team do not have to rent a warehouse and employ their own dedicated staff.

But I would also love a Royal Mail option, perhaps even if it was somewhat more expensive.

Even inland, couriers are absolutely useless at making sensible decisions when delivering to residential address during the day if nobody is home. One day they leave a valuable parcel in the rain in full view from the street; one day they take a small cheap postable item back to \"regional headquarters\" because \"nobody to sign\".
