No problem for me. It works as it should. Move the slider to a new position and it starts playing from there.

Worked well for me! Randomly (or not so) "OK" had also got added to the /etc/apt/sources.list file so had to remove with nano.

With the exact instructions that should not happen. You probably mistyped.

Hello,
Every time I try to open Google drive in Chromium, the system hangs for 1 or 2 minutes, no mouse no keyboard nothing answering. Then the system kills one chromium thread:
dmesg is showing this:
[ 3378.528202] Out of memory: Kill process 1741 (chromium-browse) score 360 or sacrifice child
[ 3378.528254] Killed process 1741 (chromium-browse) total-vm:842972kB, anon-rss:355360kB, file-rss:12868kB
My chromium install is just a few days old and was done as per instructions of this thread (1st post)
Version 50.0.2661.102 Built on Ubuntu 15.04, running on Raspbian 8.0
Only Chromium was running nothing else. Only 3 tabs.
Plain Raspbian Jessie on 16GB SDcard on Pi3.
Annoying but not very important.
Anyway thanks again for making Chromium available on the Pi.

That takes some time to show up because they all have to be manually approved. You're doing fine with your English.

You seem to have two entries in /etc/apt/sources.list

Delete one of them. But it's just a warning and doesn't affect anything.

First Install - not working.

I select 'Menu / Internet / Chromium Web Browser'
The pointer changes to the timer icon for about 20 seconds, but then nothing happens.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
I've followed the instructions from page one of this post (it is only 4 lines, so not sure how I messed it up...)
viewtopic.php?f=63&t=121195

The OS was freshly built and updated, using the full Jessie image (I tried with the lite version and installed LXDE, but as that didn't work I changed to the full version)

Anywhere I can check logs, or any ideas?

RPi newbie here! I am hoping to use Chromium on a kiosk project. I have an RPi3 running Jessie. When trying to follow the steps on page/post 1 of this thread I get 'OK' after the wget cmd, but then after the echo I see this:

E: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/htp could not be found

htp? Shouldn't that be http? What I am doing wrong? Is this an error in the Raspian config?

Thanks in advance for any help!

What is inside /etc/apt/sources.list:

You have a typo and you also ran it 4 times. Once is enough, any upgrade can be gotten by
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list and remove everything except one and fix the htp typo on the 4th line.

Apologies, my follow up post was rejected as a duplicate for some reason. I was indeed a Pi1.

Found by:
cat /proc/cpuinfo
http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2012/0 ... d-version/
Now retrying with a Pi2

Chromium works fine when you boot it but then if you leave it on without touching the pi for a couple of hours it becomes unusable, completely unresponsive (just scrolling takes like 1 minute). What can cause this?

It's a memory hog. But it should last a day.

Just installed the latest version of jessie on my pi 3 and installed chromium 50. Works great as it always did.
i tried the chrome://flags trick and disabled the media source api,
and at last youtube browsing works at 360p inside the browser with no pauses or excessive dropped frames.

Plus i tried the online theramin page, not expecting it to work, but it works ok as well

http://femurdesign.com/theremin/

Will chromium browser, ever be installed by default into the rasbian images,
i know this is a touchy subject, but they shoukd think about it.
i mean the default browser they give, uses ' duck duck go' by default
