Been there, done that.

When I first looked at the page there was 42 of each, when I bought there was around 7-5 of left, now there are no numbers..

Dust off the old DSI slot - there's now something to put in it !

That connector has been built into every Pi since day one (sure some money could have been saved without it)
and it's sat lonely and redundant until now...

I have no real need, but have ordered one anyway - well done guys :)

I wish it is able to work 7/24, as my headless Pi maybe need a head.

Does this being a DPI to DSI bridge connection mean we can connect other displays ?
(yes I know we can do it over GPIO http://blog.reasonablycorrect.com/raw-dpi-raspberry-pi/)

Yes, you can also use the HDMI port. The link to raspi.tv in the OP has some video to watch.
As long as you’ve allocated 128 Mb RAM to GPU, dual-screen use is flawless. I plugged in my 23″ Samsung HDMI TV and sent a video through HDMI with omxplayer --display 5 filename.mov This then played flawlessly while I messed around using the camera module on the DSI display. I had it showing live camera video output and also made it wrap live video round a spinning 3d teapot to try and stress the GPU. Neither display skipped a beat. You can see that in the video

Would it be possible to have a dedicated forum section for the Official Display like the Camera Board in Hardware please? It would be good to have a focused area where all discussions around the display can be contained, rather than hunting for threads in different sections.

Thanks.
