Raspberry Username

Mon Aug 31, 2015 6:35 pm

Hello,
My first post here.
And I have a question about my Raspberrypi.org Username. Within the department Profile/Edit account settings the username can be altered by providing the current password (at the bottom of the page). But it is impossible to change the username. When I am in that username area, a blocking sign picture comes up in that area. It makes no differance when I put the password in the required area before attempting to change the username change. It remains the same.

Thank you for your answer in any way.

I don't see what you mean. If I follow the links "User Control Panel -> Profile -> Edit account settings" I see no possible way to change the user name. Only email address and password.

Isn't this normal behaviour for forums and such places?

To be honest, I'd rather people did not change their usernames. I like some consistency. Even if the poster is basically anonymous. Else why not just post as a different user every visit?

I think you have to scroll downwards on that page. There is to be seen the line:
You must enter your current password if you wish to alter your email address or username.

It is not my intension to switch the Username by every post or every time I'm getting online. The initial username is afterwards not my choice. So I should like to switch to my definitly choice.

Thanks for your time.

Cause these are your first posts, I would say, Just make a new account with the username you want. I don't think you can change the username. ;)

Your username can be changed via one of the moderators. Your request will be passed onto one of the forum administrators. No guarantee of success however.

PM a moderator (not necessarily me :D ) stating what you wish your username to be changed too.
