Simple Slideshow Navigator

Sun Jul 15, 2012 10:53 am

Hi not got my Pi yet, but what I'm after is a simple slideshow program, that will display my images full screen and be able to navigate to the next image using a key or by selecting it from a menu. The images will be displayed directly through a projector.

I've done a quick google, gthumb came up as being fairly simple but I don't know if it will work on the Pi or even if it would be suitable.

Are there any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Eye of Gnome supports the functionality you're looking for.

Once it's loaded, and you've opened one of the images in the directory, you can simply hit F5 and it will launch into a slideshow mode with arrow keys available should you wish to use them.

The package name under Debian is "eog", so installing it would be a case of simply running "sudo apt-get install eog".

Hi,

Unfortunately, "sudo apt-get install eog" failed on Wheezy installation.
It said:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
eog : Depends: libpeas-1.0-0 (>= 1.0.0) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: gir1.2-peas-1.0 but it is not going to be installed

Regards

Nick
