I've been ready a lot on these forums and  I would like to thank all of the people with  how disagreements are being handles, so far people are talking respectfully about others and giving reasons they disagree, no flame wars.

Let's keep up the good work as the community grows.

"Four Candles" - in case anybody not from the UK was wondering, this link might - sort of - help make some sense of it ...

The problem is, does the joke travel?

The German's find Dinner for One hysterically funny and it is shown extensively at Christmas but leaves most people in the UK completely cold, even though it is spoken in English and has an English performer.

One more try, and apologies if it fails again:

Edit: Bah! That was a quoted reply to GOG"s video with the URLs edited, but it just isn"t having it!

See here for the ball or aerosol reference.

EDIT – hmmm – problems with embedding for me too – but not when I edited it to point out the error evidently, lol

It's good. But as puns go it doesn't even come close to:

"Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana."

Those two sentences make me want to give the English language a great, big cuddle and to dance around, laughing maniacally, like Rumpelstiltskin.

Which is more then compensated for by those terrible English pun jokes like:

Two atoms are sitting at the bar. One says "I think I lost an electron". The other asks "Are sure sure?". "I am positive" says the first one.

Post edit: And what about those 'knock knock' jokes. Horrible!

Two biscuits crossing the road. One gets run over, the other says "CRUMBS!"

Ok if we are on bad jokes. I like this one:

A Greek, an Italian and an Irishman go into a bar.

The German picks up the bill.

Oh indeed Gert - what have you started.  My 2 favourite limericks -

There was a young lady from Crewe,

Who's limericks stopped at line two.

and

There was a young man from Verdun.
