It has been said that a lecturer at a UK university expressed the opinion that a good engineer would be able to scavenge the land for silicon and the appropriate dopants to create their own transistors and thus circuits.

There may be evidence to say that this has been attempted already.

If you should examine Stonehenge it bears a REMARKABLE similarity to a series of FETs (Field Effect Transistor) forming a NMOS logic circuit. Therefore could form a Bit Slice Machine.

Therefore the lack of the Broadcom device should NOT form any barrier to the Open Source Community with regard to TOSSEER as they would be able to build their own compute element as the British were able to do 5000 years ago.

Real women make their own homebrew NMOS silicon transistors, not those crude copper/galena ones.

Open fire sounds too nonindustrial maybe a ceramics kiln and a spatula of course the char wont be as good but you may have cleaner ash from the process this way.
