I think that 2nd gen Raspberry PI should use:

- Single/Dual Core ARM Cortex A7 CPU at least 700mhz
- 512MB RAM
- Lower power usage (from 2 to 3 watts down to 1 to 2 watts)

For a $25 computer the 24GFLOPS GPU might be powerful enough to play most games that can be played on ARM computers right now expect ailen-arena.

And I think it should have wheels and come bundled with a sandwich.

If you do a bit of searching in the forums, you'll see a lot of speculation about stuff like this (and the reasons why some of it is not possible at the moment).

Please rename topic to "Sarcastic suggestions for R-Pi 2nd Gen specs".

Also it needs a foozball table.

Can the next R-Pi have full 3D output?
And a pony?
And a VR setup?
What about cake-making facilities?

I just want it to mount to a shark and have a 5W laser. Is that too much to ask for $35?

Seriously, all that stuff will come in due time. Next year better chips will be less expensive, and if the foundation dosn't pick up that ball and run with it someone else will. That is just how semiconductors work they always get better and less expensive.

Now that's just plain silly!... The laser blows the power budget on its own.

Also my signature holds true in this case:

http://www.raspberrypi.org/for.....#038;t=246
http://www.raspberrypi.org/for.....#038;t=656

From http://www.raspberrypi.org/faqs:
Why doesn’t the Raspberry Pi include <insert name> piece of hardware or <insert name> sort of port?
Our main function is a charitable one – we’re trying to build the cheapest possible computer that provides a certain basic level of functionality, and this means we’ve had to make hard decisions about what hardware and interfaces to include.

Hahahah...You guys are funny. What I ask for is impossible right now I know that much. I was thinking next year that stuff should be for the most part doable.

2nd RPI should be another RPI bolted on top of the original - i.e. 2x everything .... but with shared address space ;-p

2nd generation RPI will be a perfect circle (also called r^2 PI). It will sport a new Broadcom chip in a new rounded package (like a watch battery) with 3 cores and one mini core (with 14.1592% of the processing power). Of course, any connector which isn't rounded will be removed. That is; USB ports will be replaced by PS/2 connectors, the ethernet port will be replaced with token ring and hdmi will be removed.

Look, the most important thing to get down in price for the 2nd generation is a rubber keyboard.

Looks doable now, with the Gert board. (You will need some means to waterproof the board, however... and probably a very small shark.)

But now we have GertBoard!!! RasPi can come rolling in - IN the sandwich on wheels - and not just a SANDWICH ON WHEELS - but a MOTORIZED, AUTONOMOUSLY CONTROLLED, GPS GUIDED, HEAT-SEEKING SANDWICH ON WHEELS. 8)

I am only interested in your animated sandwich if it contains bacon.
