I think that 2nd gen Raspberry PI should use:

- Single/Dual Core ARM Cortex A7 CPU at least 700mhz
- 512MB RAM
- Lower power usage (from 2 to 3 watts down to 1 to 2 watts)

For a $25 computer the 24GFLOPS GPU might be powerful enough to play most games that can be played on ARM computers right now expect ailen-arena.

If you do a bit of searching in the forums, you'll see a lot of speculation about stuff like this (and the reasons why some of it is not possible at the moment).

Seriously, all that stuff will come in due time. Next year better chips will be less expensive, and if the foundation dosn't pick up that ball and run with it someone else will. That is just how semiconductors work they always get better and less expensive.

2nd RPI should be another RPI bolted on top of the original - i.e. 2x everything .... but with shared address space ;-p

2nd generation RPI will be a perfect circle (also called r^2 PI). It will sport a new Broadcom chip in a new rounded package (like a watch battery) with 3 cores and one mini core (with 14.1592% of the processing power). Of course, any connector which isn't rounded will be removed. That is; USB ports will be replaced by PS/2 connectors, the ethernet port will be replaced with token ring and hdmi will be removed.
