GNOME desktop on Raspberry Pi 3

Thu Nov 22, 2018 6:29 am

I'm very used to using the GNOME desktop, since I have Ubuntu 18.10 on my laptop which by default uses GNOME. I know various other desktop environments have been ported such as GNOME 2 (MATE), but I'd like to use GNOME 3 on my Pi 3 as well. There should be an option to turn off desktop effects to speed it up similar to KDE.

What not just install Gnome 3 from the repositories and try it yourself ??

It would probably require the experimental OpenGL driver, which does not play nicely with my TV.
