OpenElec HDMI problems

Wed Sep 05, 2012 8:53 pm

I am trying to get OpenElec working on my pi but it doesn't seem to like my TV.
The Wheezy debian works fine on my pi so I know it should work!

So I am thinking that I need to force a screen resolution using xorg.conf??
But I don't know how to do this as I don't know what settings to put in.

My TV is a Samsung LE19R88B with a native resolution of 1440x900 @ 60Hz.

Can anyone help?

I had the same problem as you with an LG TV. Just edit the config.txt and add this two lines (or edit the values if the lines are already written):

hdmi_drive=2
config_hdmi_boost=4

If it still doesn't work (like happen to me) just change the last line to:

hdmi_safe=1

Hope this works...

Thanks for your reply.

I had tried some of the settings in config.txt before and it made no difference.

But setting "hdmi_safe=1" fixed my problem.
Although in XBMC I could only use 640x480.

So to the config.txt file I then added:
hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=4

So this gave me 1280x720 @ 60Hz within XBMC :D

Return to “Other”
