I was wondering if this was possible, i own all of the original install disks and was wondering if putting all of the OS files on to the MicroSD Card would work. Basically, i want to run Mac OS 9 with out an emulation, any ideas?

MAC OS9 requires a machine with a PPC CPU, the RPi has an ARM CPU

So no way even with emulation......

Look on Craigslist for an old Apple Mac. Apple is, however, notorious for not supporting things very long. I'm running 10.4 or 10.5 and most everything wants something like 10.7 or better. Contrast this with Microsoft and you see people still running programs for the IBM XT. The same issues are replaying themselves with iOS and Android. The lowest thing you can use seems to be an iPhone 4!

Not without any emulation.

That said it should be possible to write an absolute minimal Operating system, that provides the needed interfaces to support a framebuffer only port of SheepShaver, then rewrite the PowerPC JIT in SheepShaver to target the ARM CPU instead of the x86, and you should get decent performance (especially not having any multitasking OS in the way, under SheepShaver).

That said, I hope that you have a lot of time on your hands if you intend to tackle this task, and a good familiarity with ARM programming, bare metal Raspberry Pi programming, and PowerPC machine language will all be very needed skills.

Had a bit of fun mashing the Raspberry Pi logo with the Apple logo. For anyone that wants to incorporate it into their Pi builds. I have it in EPS, SVG formats as well, just message me and I'll get something to you.

You cannot run a PowerPC OS on Raspberry Pi natively, but can use qemu-system-ppc. Since Mac OS 9 is so old, it should run at about the same speed as Windows 95 running in QEMU. Overall speed depends on your Pi model.
