Fortran 95 on RISC OS

Mon Apr 11, 2016 1:45 pm

Recently I bought a Raspberry Pi 2 and am currently using RISC OS 5. Ideally I would like to be able to use the Pi instead of my Windows PC as my day to day machine. It is important to me to be able to use a modern Fortran compiler such as gfortran which is part of the GCC suite and can be used on the Pi in Raspbian. I note that GCC is available for RISC OS on the Pi but not the Fortran part and was wondering if I need to use the cross compiler in Linux to create my own version or if someone in RISC OS or GNU has already done this?

I should add that with the help of Friends of Fortran (for RISC systems) I have been successfully using FORTRAN 77 on RPCEmu. Unfortunately that compiler does not work on the Pi and also I would like to use a modern Fortran compiler. Any thoughts would be welcome.

BTW I am truly amazed with all the hard work that has been put into the RISC OS Software by so many individuals. Big thanks to all concerned.
