X didn't want to quit?

Wed May 23, 2012 6:21 am

Hi, so I'm trying to make a thin client. I followed the Enlightenment tutorial up to the point before installing Enlightenment. I installed rdesktop and freerdp instead. I have ~/.xinitrc set to

Code: Select all

exec rdesktop <server> -f
So the rdesktop will start when I do startx, and it will drop me back to the shell when I quit the rdesktop. But if I run rdesktop for a while, and then try to quit rdesktop, I just get a black screen and the computer hangs. Keyboard doesn't work, capslock lights don't work etc. I have tried ssh in and running top before I try to quit the rdesktop. It shows that X is at 99% of the cpu. (Same thing happens with freerdp) How should I go about troubleshooting this? thanks

Did you have a look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log? Also, if I were you I would login over SSH and monitor the file from there to see what is being appended to it. As a last resort you might try to strace the running xorg instance to see what it's doing

I just had this.
Selected the 224 Mb blob (cp /boot/arm224_start.elf /boot/start.elf then reboot) and even midori looks snappy(er)

Return to “Arch”
