Power 5v breadboard from Gertboard

Fri Aug 09, 2013 6:00 am

Is there a way to use the 5v output of the gertboard to power a breadboard? I am new to electronics so sorry for the beginner question but normally I use a wall wart to power my bread board which is 5v I believe. I was just wondering if there is a way to ditch the wall wart and just let the RPI/Gertboard power my projects/circuits on the breadboard.

Thanks in advance.

There's two 5V pins on J24. Connect one of them to breadboard +ve. Connect another wire from breadboard negative to one of the many GND or -| pins on the Gertboard. This is certainly true for Rev 2 GB. I haven't got a Rev 1 with me to check.
