Hi Texy
I received your answer but it desappear somewhere. Could you send me information on my pm?
I accept your conditions for 4 PCB, but I do not use PayPal.
Could I pay you directly from my current account ( in your currency of course )?

Hi Texy,
I recieved my 2.8 TouchShield and I tried to install the software on my raspPi 3 times with no success (2 times with 2013-08-25 wheezy rasp and one time with 2014-01-07 wheezy(here I got : FATAL: Module g2d_23 not found. during startx)). With 2013 version I can see the desktop on 2.8 TFT but screen is mirror changed. That means bottom right is top left and text is from right to left (and mirror changed).
What I made wrong? Can you help?

Best regards,

Dirk

Hi Dirk,
firstly,
FATAL: Module g2d_23 not found. during startx
is not a fault of the TFT - actually it has nothing to do with the TFT or the Pi as such. You will get this message with a standard raspbian os - please ignore it, it is a message linked to fbturbo, but actually to do with allwinner drivers, so not Pi related.
Secondly,
you have a v2 board, but are using the v1 instructions - that is why you are getting a mirror image.
Follow the instructions here :
http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 45&t=64993
Any further help, please use that thread ;)
Hope this helps,
Texy

Hi Texy,

thanks for your help, the desktop will be displayed on touch screen!
I used 2014-01-07-wheezy-raspbian-2014-02-03-fbtft-hy28b.zip and followed the additional description here: https://github.com/notro/fbtft/wiki/FBTFT-shield-image

Pleasure!!!

This probably isn't unique to the v1 a/b/c boards, but I have a v1c board, so that's why I'm posting here initially.

When the LXDE desktop (and I assume others) comes up on the touchscreen, the menu bar appears where expected and some logos and part of the desktop wallpaper corresponding to the upper left portion of the full desktop wallpaper is displayed. That means that icons further down and to the right are off-screen and when windows are displayed, the lower and right portions of them are also off-screen, often including the all-important OK, Cancel, and possibly other buttons, let alone pop-up menus, scrolling lists, text fields, labels, etc. Is there a way to scale the desktop when desired so that we can at least see, if not perfectly manipulate everything that would normally be on the Raspbian LXDE desktop (talk about an understatement!)?

I realize the real answer may be that we have to configure the icons on the desktop so only those that will fit can be displayed, and we should only use applications with windows that will fit within the touchscreen's limited area, but I suspect it is possible to adjust the scale of the desktop, I hope without requiring a restart of LXDE. Thanks!

Hi Adam,
firstly, are you sure you have a v1 board, because I haven't sold those since before Christmas?
Secondly, I have updated the first post for this thread with new instructions.

I double checked all my connections on the board last night, reseated the ribbon cable, downloaded and installed the image on post one of this thread. When I boot up, my tft is still white, and my HDMI monitor shows this (see attached image)

hi,
we got it all up and running on our project.
The only problem is we also installed retropie on it... It won't show on the screen only on hdmi.
Tho duke3d is the only thing that does start on the 2.8 inch screen... any idea how we can make it all work on the screen?

thx.

I've tried just about everything, I think its time to give up :)

- Tried the new image on post 1 of this thread
- Several images from: https://github.com/notro/fbtft/wiki/FBTFT-shield-image
- Retested and re-heated my solder joints to make sure contacts were 100%
- Re-seated the ribbon cable (with the two nubby's)
- pulled out all peripherals and just tried booting the PI with no display (just the pitft) with several different images

Still just a white screen. I do notice a very small flicker while it boots up. But thats about it.

*sigh*

I thought so. Maybe you should contact the vendor because you didn't buy that from me. This thread is for the original 2.8" shield board, not an adafruit product.

Hi
Today I got around to try the Texy v2a board, works fine with one big BUT. It is mirrored over the Y-axis, what can I do get this right?

Never mind, reading is a hard thing. Mine is a v2 board and this is a v1 something to do with a device ending with an A or B.
Changed the config file in the boot partition and my problem is solved

When I run:

sudo pip install evdev

I get the following output:

Hi
That error is usually because the previous step hasn't completely correctly :

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libts-bin evtest xinput python-dev python-pip
It's the python-dev install that will include the python.h file.
However if you've bought the TFT display board since Christmas then you have a v2 board and you are posting in the wrong thread ;-)
Lastly I recommend you download Notro's image and you don't need to follow any of these instructions.
Hope this helps

Hi Texy!

Received your shield board the other day, used the img at the beginning of the post, lo and behold It works!

My next question, i think someone posted the same one in here somewhere, when I startx and start opening some of the apps, they are off the screen so i cant get to any buttons, etc. How might I set it up to be able to get to parts of windows with buttons?

Thanks for your help and a great product! :) (Im learning)

Hi,
I really need to lock this thread as the v1 a/b/c board is no longer available, but has been replaced by the v2 board, so you are asking in the wrong thread.
Both hdmi and the TFT can be used to display the same information with the use of fbcp.

At this point you should be able to see raspbmc on the display!
Search the web/forum to see how to run fbcp automatically every boot ;-)

Hey Texy, is it allready possible to get this Display working including Touch with RaspBMC? Without touch it was working a while ago, but since there was no Touch with RaspBMC the unused TFT gets dusty and a would like to use it inside my Car, but for that i need Touch on RaspBMC.
