Cirrus Logic Sound Card for R-Pi3 control issue

Wed May 22, 2019 7:45 am

Hello,
I just installed a Cirrus Logic sound card for my Raspberry Pi 3 and installed the drivers. However, when I go to configure the Input-Output jack settings, I get almost 100 different options...Which ones do I check and which ones do I leave alone??

I have no sound yet.....

Mike

I forgot to mention two things: First, I am trying to get sound through the green 3.5mm jack on the sound card add on not the RCA jacks and my OS is a custom version Raspbian Jessie. The only difference is three programs added to it.

May we ask why you are using obsolete and unsupported Raspbian Jessie OS ??

I did manage to get the sound card working. I had the headphones plugged into the green jack instead of the black headphone jack. Music sounds quite nice as it should but, what control or controls do I choose??? There must be 100 different ones!!!! :o :o :o

You can control the headphone output volume with "HPOUT1 Digital", the lineout volume with "HPOUT2 Digital".

When recording audio adjust "IN3L" and "IN3R" for line-in - there are separate controls for left/right.

The WM5102 chip supports very complex signal routing, therefore I wrote a bunch of (shell script) helper functions to set these up - these are in rpi-cirrus-functions.sh, which is used by all the setup scripts like Playback_to_Lineout.sh.

At the beginning of the script you'll find definitions for the mixer base names, you can use that as a cheat-sheet to find the right ones if you want to change them manually. see https://github.com/HiassofT/rpi-cirrus- ... sh#L21-L35

Code: Select all

# input base names
headset_in="IN1"
dmic_in="IN2"
line_in="IN3"

Code: Select all

# output base names
headset_out="HPOUT1"
line_out="HPOUT2"
speaker_out="SPKOUT"
so long,

Hias
