There is a section in this page regards RTL2832 / CXD2837 which may be worth a perusal ??

The new testing Linux kernel may have support in it.

Best (or easiest for me) was to use LibreElec and TVHeadend and see if it picked it up.
It also has two other methods of getting a driver.

You can put the tv headon on to raspbian os and still do other things with raspbian. The tv headon is just a service, not a whole image.

TVheadend doesn't' provide the drivers so that's of no help.

Best bet is to try the latest OpenELEC and see if it works, it provides, as mentioned, additional drivers and a newer kernel whi contains a lot of newer drivers (my XBOX One TV stick for starters).

OR you could try the latest Raspberry Kernel with
sudo rpi-update
that may break your system though.

Could you provide us with a link to your DVB stick? I had a DVB stick and it was not recognized either. It depends on the quality of the device and how well it is manufactured.

Even the text is misleading "Digital satellite DVB t2 usb tv stick Tuner with antenna Remote HD TV Receiver for DVB-T2/DVB-C/FM/DAB USB TV Stick ". No Satellite at all! What do you expect regarding Linux drivers?

Number 1 rule regarding DVB devices: check each item on linuxtv.org and buy only devices which are supported in the kernel.

DVB-C ??

DVB-C stands for "Digital Video Broadcasting - Cable" and it is the DVB European consortium standard for the broadcast transmission of digital television over cable.

Boot your Pi with the dongle disconnected.
"sudo dmesg -C".
Connect the dongle.
Post the output of "dmesg", as that is what the kernel has done in response to seeing the device.

Also post the output of "lsusb" with the device connected. Google on the VID:PID pair to see if anyone has worked on that device with Linux.

So based on "15f4:0131 Hanftek", your device is an AstroMeta DVB-T2 or clone thereof, and in some variants it's supported by Linux - https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/bl ... xu.c#L1942

See https://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Astrometa_DVB-T2 for the full status, paying attention to the comment about the update in 2018. Support for the 2018 update appears to have been added in Linux 5.0, whilst we're supporting 4.19 (it is a long term support kernel). If you have a 2018 variant then you'll need to build your own kernel.
