Emulated eeprom ok for hats?

Tue Dec 25, 2018 7:05 pm

Any objections from RPF to emulated (instead of physical) eeproms on hats?

(I am working on a new product and I am trying to minimize the parts count and BOM costs)

The POE HAT uses an emulated EEPROM, and also controls the fan with the same microcontroller.

Thanks ... it is always good to reduce BOM costs.
