Videostream in Realtime

Wed Jun 11, 2014 3:13 pm

Hi

How can I make a videostream with very low latency from my Raspberry PI (RPI Camera or Webcam) to HTML5, C# Programm and ios xcode app? if its possible i would like to stream to all devices at the same time. It has to be with low latency/delay because i want to remote my Rc Car with it.

Somebody an idea?

Thank you for helping.

HTML5 solutions usually have long delay, due to the chunked video format, where chunks need to download before being played. HTML5 live video like HLS or DASH is *broadcast live*, not *real-time live*.

thanks for the reply.
in that case i cant use html5. actually i wanted to implemet it in php. thats why i thougt html5 would be the best solution. Most important thing is, that it is live with a very low delay!

Gstreamer is the lowest latency, 0.5sec
Android app - Raspi Card Imager - download and image SD cards - No PC required !

You'll probably need libraries that can play RTP streams. Look into FFMpeg.
