Webcam output upload problem

Fri Jan 24, 2014 12:41 pm

I've been trying for sometime now to get the output from my webcam (which works well on my LAN) to be incorporated into a page on my website. The webcam is an R Pi camera board and I used http://www.dronkert.net/rpi/webcam.html brilliant script to get it working as a webcam. All works well as long as I only want to view it on my LAN. The problem is I wish to use the webcam image on my local weather website, and all efforts I take to try and do this end in failure. I really would welcome some help with this.

You really don’t make it easy to help you.

What efforts and how did they fail?

Well this could be part of the problem. I should have kept some kind of log. I don't fully understand what is going on with my ftp. I have been using pywss to run my weather station. All fine and dandy. And using the weather.ini to upload the latest weather data. Now I want to add a webcam. I've tried:
1. Uploading the raspstill output (image.jpg) as an image src in one of my web pages, that get uploaded through the weather.ini , works when I manually upload everything, but not subsequently.
2. I have the R Pi camera board working well and producing good images on the localhost (/var/www/) using the Dronkret script as I said before. Ideally I would like the out put from /var/www/ to be uploaded to a page on my website. I hoped image src = http://localhost (the LAN IP address) would work but as before, only works when I manually do it and no more…

What I would like help with is advice on how I can get an upload to my website (say every 15 minutes) of the latest webcam image.

any help, however basic (as probably the more basic the better) would be greatly appreciated.
