Rpi wifi camera.

Mon Oct 31, 2016 4:18 pm

I'd like to set up my Rpi as a wifi camera pointing down at my workbench so that my students can see what I'm doing on their laptops.

Since this is my first Rpi project, I'm not up to speed with what's out there. Can anyone suggest what cameras are available, what wifi attachments, software for the Rpi and the laptops, and so forth.

I'd guess that others may already have done this, so if anyone knows of a similar project I'd be glad to know about it.

Thanks for all replies..

See UV4L:

Especially the VideoConference OS, for conferences over the web:

In about ~10 minutes you could tweak or customize the above image to even broadcast both the camera and the Rpi Desktop/Screen directly at the same time to your students. Audio/Video is two-way.

Example of RPi screen-to-browser (not of VideoConf OS, no demo yet for it):

Thanks to both - a very good start. Will post back when I've investigated.
